POINTS FOR PRAYER  Please use this notice sheet to focus your prayers for the church and all the activities going on. Also remember to pray for members of our church family who are in need.

Please pray for:

  • Our children and young people as they start the new school year, especially those going to University or College for the first time, and young ones going to new schools or nursery.
  • For June Farrant, as she takes up her new post with us as Pastoral Lay Worker.
  • For the house groups as they meet following the summer break.

Sunday 8th September Service led by Andy and Tim

New items

Derby Signfest 9-15 Sep.  An exciting week-long new festival, in Derby, celebrating the rich Deaf culture and uniting Deaf and hearing communities together!  There is something in the festival for everyone, all ages, deaf and hearing, as events will be in BSL or spoken English with BSL/English interpreters.  For more information please see our flyers or contact Theatre Royal Derby or visit www.derbysignfest.co.uk thank you.

Large Print Books/Folders.  The A4 lever arch files with the words in for these books are now being left at church due to there size and quantity.  Once the songs are sent to us on a Thursday we will do our best to get the song/hymns sheets into the folders for Sunday.  However if we do not receive the songs/hymns we will not be able to do this and our users do greatly appreciate being able to use the folders during the service.  Thank you for your help Hyacinth Accessibility Team.

If anyone can bake cakes for the 14th of September to raise funds for the cost of my exhibition in London which will take place in October it will be much appreciated.  The fundraiser will be taking place at Crossways Saturday morning.  Thank you, Megan

Crossways will close on Wednesdays for the foreseeable future from this week(Sept 4th).  Many thanks to everyone who gave their time to help out over the last 15 plus years.

On Saturday 5th October from 7.00-9.00pm the Signs for Worship group would like to invite you to a free concert of worship, praise and reflection.  Tickets are free however we will be asking for donations to the Bible Translation Project which is translating the bible into British Sign Language to enable Deaf people to fully access God’s living word.  Please contact Tarnia, Tracy or Hyacinth for more details and to get your ticket.  Please also let us know if you would be willing to bake a cake for us to sell, again profits to go to the charity.  Thank you.

If you would like more information or would like to come please contact Tim timbroad@btinternet.com) or Tracy (tracy.bird@ntlworld.com)
