New Notices
Christmas Fayre. This year our fayre is on Saturday 30th December from 10 - 12 noon. Our charities this year are Clic Sargent - children's Cancer Charity and Baby Basics which most of you know about as we became the 37th centre for this charity earlier in the year. We would like your help and support to make this morning the best yet. We will be having 3 stalls as usual a Cake Stall, an Unwanted Gift Stall and a Bottle, Can or Jar stall. Please bring in any donations and give to Jane or Yvonne over the next few weeks. The cakes can be left at church the day before or brought on the morning. We will also be doing a hamper, if people could donate to this a list will be in the foyer for you to sign. We also need some more help to man a stall or help in the kitchen if anyone could do this please see Jane as soon as possible, even if you can just do 1/2 an hour or an hour that would be good. Lastly please make this event widely known using social media or giving someone a leaflet.
Shoe Box Appeal. A kindly reminder for the Shoeboxes and Shoebox donations to be in by next Sunday 10th November. There will be a blessing for the boxes on the 17th as they begin their journey to Romania on the 19th. Thank you Margaret and Helen Radford.
Trinity Mens Fellowship. Thursday Nov 14th at 7-30pm. The speaker will be Councillor Chris Corbett who will talk about his experiences as Erewash BC Mayor last year. Chris and his wife regularly come into Trinity for coffee on a Saturday morning and Deacon Terry was his padre for the year. A warm welcome is extended to all men to come and hear ‘life as the Mayor’ and give him the Churches support.
Mens’ Weekend. The Annual concert for the Mens’ Weekend has been postponed until next springtime. The annual Sunday morning service will take place on Sunday 24th Nov when the preacher will be the Rev Alistair Jones assisted by the men.
Connect on Thursday. After much prayer and planning we will launch a new outreach activity on Thursday 7th November. This will be held every Thursday morning between 9am and 12pm and is an opportunity to open our doors to our community as a place for people to come and meet with others for activities, chat and spiritual input. Breakfast (toast and cereals) will be available between 9 and 10.30am and tea and coffee throughout the morning. Activities will include a games table, prayer table, writers corner, jigsaws, knit and natter as well as a space to relax and chat and a spiritual 5 minute slot led by June. Jane will be present as our Family worker and will have a small area for families to interact.
Please do come and join us if you are free on a Thursday morning to take part yourself. If you would like to come on to a rota for volunteering please speak to Margaret, Sarah or June asap.
Please do pray as this new initiative is launched that it will meet the needs of our community and will give us opportunities to share God's love with our neighbours.
Sunday 10th November – Engage. Refreshments from 6pm with worship commencing 6.30pm. Please come along and why not invite someone to share in worship and hear our guest speaker Jemma Baldry.
