God's words for Trinity - 12 hours of prayer April 2018
Posted by Nobody on 24 April 2018
We were delighted with the turnout for the 12 hours of prayer. As part of the event we left some paper and a basket asking for people to write down any words, pictures or Bible scriptures they received and leave them in the basket.
Here are all the words of encouragement and Bible references received during the 12 hours of prayer
Haggai 2:9 – we must be prepared to risk take and go out to the people. Rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance. This is the year of the Lord.
Those that pray together will stay together. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wickedness, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14. Let’s pray together and then Joel 2:28-29 (and afterward, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my spirit in those days.)
We have a new building at Trinity – the old ruins have been rebuilt. God wants to rebuild and restore us, not just the building but the people – his body. Behold I am making all things new, do you not perceive it? We need to lay again solid foundations with Christ as the cornerstone. Be built up in him, the head. As we look to him, seek him and obey him, his spirit moves and his promises are fulfilled.
To move forward we have to stand together at the cross and be united as one body.
Acts 6:1-7 – the importance of every aspect of church life being headed up by one full of the holy spirit and wisdom.
Embrace the Holy Spirit he is an amazing gift from God
God is the same yesterday today and forever, he is never changing.
Psalm 90:17 – may the favour of the Lord our God rest upon us, establish the work of our hands for us
Proverbs 28:1 – but the righteous are as bold as a lion. Holding the stone marked courage God is showing me that we need to be like a lion, roaring his words with power, passion, with strength, not fear
No more fear
Psalm 32:8 – God will guide me along the best path, advise and watch over me. Even when things seem impossible, God’s guidance is available when we need it, just ask!
God wants to show us the need in Long Eaton, are we willing to be led by the hand?
Trinity is to be a light on a hill shining for all to see as well as it’s people shining, reflecting Christ and his love. A place where they can be washed clean by the blood of Christ, cleaned, renewed, forgiven. A place where it’s not just food for the body but food for the soul and the fellowship of believers. May we arise for the glory of the lord is upon us. This is the time of the lord’s favour for us to go. Amen
What should our prayer and fasting produce in the lives of those in need? Isaiah 58: 6-14 to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter- when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Jesus is telling us by our love and unity we will be known, love is the key – two verses
John 17:23 - I in them and you in me-so that they may be brought to complete unity. then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
John 15:16 - you did not choose me, but i chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last-and so that whatever you ask in my name the father will give you
We are waiting upon his preparation in us and he is shaping and making us ready
2 Peter 3:9 - the Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. the word patient stood out to me today, we are works in progress – clay in the potter’s hand. but we should pray for the spirit of boldness, Acts 4:31 - after they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Acts 2:42-47 – we are to establish more home groups not to be cosy places but where we can grow in knowledge and love of Jesus and each other. this has to be evidenced in our daily lives as it was the early fellowship. we are to use home groups as a springboard for action in our community. salt in the salt pot is no good to anyone, it has to start with me.
We need a sheep dog to round up the stragglers.
The following were words of encouragement and challenge to the church. 1.God will lead and guide us, we have to move in the direction he is taking us. 2 God will give us the gifts we need to do what he asks us.
Exodus 16:4-5 - then the lord said to Moses, "I will rain down bread from heaven for you. the people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. in this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days."
Exodus 40:36-38 - in all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out-until the day it lifted. 38so the cloud of the lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.
